Dr. Michael A. Hajek is an accomplished head and neck surgeon currently serving as an Attending Physician at Santa Cruz ENT in Santa Cruz and Freedom, CA. He specializes in head and neck surgery, with a focus on surgical oncology. Dr. Hajek completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the University of Toronto and a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He earned his MD and Master of Health Science from Yale School of Medicine, where he also conducted significant research on demethylation therapy for HPV-associated head and neck cancer.
Dr. Hajek is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. His research has been widely published, and he has received numerous awards, including the Yale School of Medicine Power Award and the Yale Department of Surgery Resident Research Award. He has presented his work at various national and international conferences.
In addition to his clinical and research expertise, Dr. Hajek has a strong background in mentoring and volunteer work, having supported cystic fibrosis patients and provided healthcare for the homeless. He is proficient in multiple languages, including English, Russian, and Spanish.
